This guide contains information and links to free web collections, books, journals, teaching materials, and other Open Access resources.

What are Open Access resources?

Open Access resources are those items that are free, immediate, and available online that anyone can access. The copyright for these items is still owned by the creator however. 

Open Access is different than Open Source in that Open Access materials are free for viewing and reading whereas Open Source is free to modify the underlying information. 

Audio Books

    The National Academies Press (NAP) publishes the reports of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The NAP offers over 8,500 titles in PDF format.

    Project Gutenberg offers over 59,000 free eBooks. You will find the world's great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired.
